Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visits under- construction 1230 megawatts gas power plant

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Thursday visited under construction 1230 megawatt gas power plant at Haveli Bahadar Shah Jhang. He saw different parts of the plant and inspected gas turbines. During his visit, the CM also met engineers, staff and workers working on the project. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the project of under-construction gas power plant is being forwarded on fast track and the most modern gas turbines of the world are being installed in this plant. He said that people will receive cheap electricity through this gas-based power plant.

Shahbaz appreciated the hard work and determination of engineers and workers working on the project and said that they are not only performing their duties in a professional manner but rendering a national service. He said that PML-N leadership is determined to eliminating energy crisis from the country as progress of Pakistan is linked with abundance supply of electricity. Elimination of energy crisis is among our priorities, he added.

The CM said that on the directions of PM Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, PML-N government is making co-ordinated efforts for coping with energy crisis. He said that the progress of Pakistan is directly linked to energy. He said that this project is being set up at a very low cost while it has far more production capacity. First phase of gas power plant at Haveli Bahadar Shah will be completed in summer next year as a result of which, 780 megawatts electricity will be added to national grid. He said that two hours duration of load-shedding will be reduced in summer. He said that the pace of work on the project is far more than international standard and this project will be completed before the stipulated period.
